Battery Estimator SurveyTag Sample & Battery Life EstimatorThis estimator is only a theoretical guide to allow you to investigate how different settings impact power consumption. Please field trial your configuration and feedback any issues to us. For maximum battery life, set Sample Average Count to 1, Burst Length to 0mS and the Sample Period as large as possible. A 1-hour Sample Rate with these settings would give over 1.5 years of battery life. Total number of samples you want. This is the total number of readings you want taken and averaged into one value that is stored on the logger with the date and time.Sample Average Count The number of on-board samples for the thermocouple chip to take. Choose 1/2/4/8/16 samples.Sample Period (seconds)This is how long the logger sleeps for before waking up to take some readings. Typically set to every hour = 3600 seconds but can be as frequent as every 10 seconds (will use lots more battery though).Useable capacity of an AA Alkaline batteryTypically use 1200mAh as the worst-case capacity of an AA alkaline down to 1.2v. In reality it should work down to 1v, but remember capacity decreases at low temperatures and this is only an ESTIMATOR.Logged data will show this many samples This value should be shown in your logged data. Multiply it by the Sample Average Count to get the total number of samples recordedBattery Life Results:Readings stored (estimate)Number of readings stored from a single battery.Hours of battery life (estimate)Number of hours operation on a single batteryDays of battery life (estimate)Number of days operation on a single batteryhigh current period in hours
